Standard Relics Ranked in Raid: Shadow Legends – Everything You Need to Know!
The new relic system was added in December 2024 alongside the new Chimera Clan Boss, bringing eleven powerful standard relics (and eleven rarer chimera relics) to RAID: Shadow Legends! In this article we’re breaking down the eleven standard relics which are accessible to even brand new players and provide new bonuses and unique effects that will change the way we build champions—especially for Clan Boss, Hydra, and Arena.
Here’s a full breakdown of what they do, how to get them, and which ones are worth chasing.
🔥 What Are Standard Relics?
- Base set of 11 relics (4 Rare, 3 Epic, 2 Legendary, 2 Mythical).
- There are no dedicated materials for crafting standard relics.
- They will be crafted in the Forge 50% of the time when using any relic crafting materials.
- These are the most common relics by far.
🔵 Rare Relics

1. Unholy Grail (Rare) – ⚔️ Damage Relic
📌 “Do more damage when under any debuffs.”
- Damage bonus: 2% if under any debuff (scaling up to 8% at max rank).
- Stats: ATK, HP, C.DMG.
- Gemslots: one Circle.
- 🔥 Best Use: Use as relic food to power up other relics.
- 🏆 Rating: 2/10 – this first free relic is very weak; look to upgrade ASAP.

2. Mask of Rage (Rare) – 🛡️ Tank Relic
📌 “Receive less damage from enemies under a Provoke debuff.”
- Damage reduction: 5% from enemies under Provoke (scaling up to 15% at max rank).
- Stats: HP, DEF, ACC.
- Gemslots: one Circle.
- 🔥 Best Use: Use as relic food to power up other relics.
- 🏆 Rating: 1.5/10 – filler relic for Provoke champions; replace with better ASAP.

3. Journal of Necrotos (Rare) – 🛡️ Utility Relic
📌 “Wearer’s heals and Turn Meter increase effects are more powerful.”
- Heal and Turn Meter Increase bonus: 15% (scaling up to 30% at max rank).
- Stats: HP, DEF, RES.
- Gemslots: one Circle.
- 🔥 Best Use: Champions with strong Turn Meter boosts, such as Arbiter, or strong heals, such as Tagoar.
- 🏆 Rating: 7/10 – amazing rare relic; healing and Turn Meter Increase are almost universally good, and this makes them noticeably stronger.

4. Rod of Blasphemy (Rare) – ⚔️ Damage Relic
📌 “Take less damage when under any debuffs.”
- Damage reduction: 2% if under any debuff (scaling up to 8% at max rank).
- Stats: HP, ATK, ACC.
- Gemslots: one Circle.
- 🔥 Best Use: Use as relic food to power up other relics.
- 🏆 Rating: 1/10 – This is the worst relic in the game. Use only as a HP stat stick with a gem socket until you have better.
🟣 Epic Relics

3. Gilded Dragonstone (Epic) – 🛡️ Tank Relic
📌 “Increase wearer’s DEF each time they receive damage.”
- DEF bonus: 1% stacking up to 10% (scaling up to 20% max bonus at max rank).
- Stats: DEF, RES, HP.
- Gemslots: one Circle, one Square.
- 🔥 Best Use: Budget option for DEF-based damage dealers (e.g. Harima) or tanky champions (e.g. Ultimate Deathknight).
- 🏆 Rating: 4/10 – slightly below average relic with a mediocre effect and mediocre gem slots.

4. Demonic Effigy (Epic) – 🛡️ Reviver Relic
📌 “Gain Turn Meter whenever one of your allies dies.”
- Turn Meter boost: 10% when an ally dies (scaling up to 20% at max rank).
- Stats: HP, RES, SPD.
- Gemslots: one Circle, one Diamond.
- 🔥 Best Use: Use on tanky reviver champions such as Wight Queen Ankora.
- 🏆 Rating: 6/10 – Decent relic for revivers only. It has appropriate stats and a helpful effect.

4. Golden Elixir (Epic) – ⚔️ Utility Relic
📌 “Get an instant heal when your HP drops below 50%.”
- Heal: 10% HP when dropping below 50% (scaling up to a 20% heal at max rank).
- Stats: ATK, ACC, HP.
- Gemslots: one Circle, one Pentagonal.
- 🔥 Best Use: The effect says tanky champions but the stats say damage dealers; this means it’s ok for either one but great for neither.
- 🏆 Rating: 5/10 – Can be helpful for early progression against bosses and Faction Wars.
🟡 Legendary Relics

5. Aspect of Siroth (Legendary) – 🛡️ Tank Relic
📌 “When the wearer receives fatal damage, reduce it by a proportion of their Turn Meter and fully reduce their Turn Meter. 1 Turn Cooldown.”
- Nerfed: note that this relic was nerfed and that it now reduces Turn Meter of champions who are “immune” to Turn Meter Reduction (e.g. Marius the Gallant).
- Damage reduction: 50% of Turn Meter (scaling up to 100% at max rank).
- Stats: DEF, RES, ACC.
- Gemslots: two Circle, one Square.
- 🔥 Best Use: God tier for Rotos the Lost Groom who gets an Extra Turn from his passive anyway, thereby negating the Turn Meter Reduction.
- 🏆 Rating: 8.5/10 – Apart from Rotos, it’s amazing for protecting tanky champions from being one-shot. Hard counters champions like Georgid the Breaker who want to one-shot enemies through Stoneskin.

6. Wand of Submission (Legendary) – 🛡️ Utility Relic
📌 “Chance to reflect CC debuffs back at the producer.”
- Reflect chance: 25% chance to reflect CC (scaling up to 50% at max rank).
- Stats: HP, SPD, ACC.
- Gemslots: two Circle, one Diamond.
- 🔥 Best Use: Can hard counter OP champions such as Armanz the Magnificent or Starsage Galathir in arena, and potentially single-handedly win an arena fight against any CC champions.
- 🏆 Rating: 10/10 – Possibly the best relic in the game for arena. Will define the arena meta for the forseeable future.
🔴 Mythical Relics

7. Volcardiac Heart (Mythical) – 🛡️ Tank Relic
📌 “Provides a Magma Shield buff to all allies at the start of battle. Provides another Magma Shield buff to the wearer whenever they lose 25% HP in a single hit.”
- Magma Shield: This is the only source of this buff in the game. It is like a Shield buff but it reflects 100% of the damage it absorbs back to the attacker.
- Shield Strength: 10% HP (scaling up to 20% at max rank).
- Stats: RES, HP, DEF.
- Gemslots: two Circle, two Square.
- 🔥 Best Use: Amazing for knocking down the Fire Knight’s shield with damage reflection and good for arena. Also very good for making a high RES champion (e.g. Lady Noelle) more survivable.
- 🏆 Rating: 8.5/10 – One of the weaker mythical relics but still brings a totally unique defensive buff.

8. Hallowed Hilt (Mythical) – 🛡️ Utility Relic
📌 “Has a 25% chance to apply the Fervor buff to an ally for 1 turn whenever the wearer heals them with an active skill.”
- Fervor buff: this is currently the only source of this buff. It gives 10% extra damage and 10% damage reduction.
- Buff chance: 25% chance when healing (scaling up to 50% at max rank).
- Stats: SPD, HP, RES.
- Gemslots: two Circle, two Diamond.
- 🔥 Best Use: Use on fast champions for arena for the SPD. Fervor is a unique buff too; use it on a healer/buffer with 9-piece Protection set for even more damage.
- 🏆 Rating: 9.5/10 – The effect is small but 10% damage adds up quickly, and main stat SPD is universally amazing. Worth maxing for the SPD and gem slots alone.
📊 Final Verdict – Best Standard Relics to Rank Up
🏆 Must-Have Relics:
- Wand of Submission: best arena relic in the game.
- Hallowed Hilt: huge SPD stat stick; damage/survivability boost is small but unique.
- Aspect of Siroth: turbo-charge your Rotos.
✅ Solid Relics:
- Volcardiac Heart: great defensive buff that reflects damage.
- Journal of Necrotos: great boost to healers and Turn Meter boosters.
- Demonic Effigy: solid relic for revivers.
⚠️ Situational Relics:
- Golden Elixir: decent relic for keeping damage dealers alive on progression.
- Gilded Dragonstone: budget relic for tanky champions.
❌ Terrible Relics:
- Unholy Grail: filler/food relic.
- Mask of Rage: filler/food relic.
- Rod of Blasphemy: filler/food relic.
Looks good. What about all the new relics that have been brought out. Will you be doing reviews on those as well?
Hello, thanks for the list. About the Volcardiac Heart I have one and it can be very useful to increase a lot the damage in a Wixwell CB team ( the magma shield size can be increased and so it reflects a substantial amount of damage to the boss ). About the Golden Elixir I use it on my Teodor to solo dungeon. Helps him a lot to stay alive.
