What Block Revive does in raid

ice golem dungeon guide featured image

Block Revive is a powerful effect that prevents an enemy from being revived after they are defeated. If a Champion is killed by a skill that activates Block Revive, they will remain dead for the rest of the battle, preventing revival skills, passives, and other effects from bringing them back.

This makes Block Revive especially valuable against revivers and encounters where enemies can repeatedly return to the fight. Unlike most debuffs in Raid, Block Revive does not require Accuracy to activate, as long as the skill’s conditions are met. However, there are a few rare exceptions, such as Lydia the Deathsiren, whose unique passive can override Block Revive under specific circumstances.

Why block revive champions are valuable

Countering Revive Based Teams

Block Revive is especially effective against revive based teams because it prevents affected enemies from returning to the fight. This allows you to permanently remove key threats, making it much harder for opponents to recover once an important Champion has been taken down. In both PvP and PvE encounters featuring revivers, Block Revive can make battles easier by reducing the number of enemies you need to deal with, rather than defeating the same target multiple times.

Creating Faster Clears

It can help enable faster clears by permanently removing key enemies from the fight, preventing them from returning through revival skills or passive effects. This allows your team to focus on the remaining opponents without needing to repeatedly defeat the same threats.

Best Areas to Use block revive champions

Ice Golem, Frost Spider & Amius

Block Revive can be extremely valuable against bosses with revival mechanics, allowing you to bypass encounters that would otherwise take much longer. In Ice Golem, Block Reviving the minions prevents them from returning to support the boss, making the fight far easier to manage.

It is also highly effective against the Frost Spider, providing an alternative way to defeat the encounter without relying on HP Burn being active. Against Amius the Lunar Archon, defeating him with a Block Revive effect during his alternate form prevents him from returning, allowing you to end the fight instead of dealing with him again.

Arena Battles

This effect can be very powerful in PvP, allowing you to permanently remove key champions from the fight and prevent revivers from bringing them back. Eliminating an important damage dealer, support, or reviver can quickly reduce an opponent’s options and make the rest of their team much easier to deal with.

PVE Waves

It can be extremely useful in PvE wave content such as Doom Tower, Cursed City, and Grim Forest, where many difficult enemies may rely on revival mechanics. Permanently removing high priority targets makes waves easier to manage, preventing dangerous champions from returning and extending the fight.

How to build Block Revive champions

Speed & Stat Requirements

Firstly, you should build your Block Revive damage dealer around their primary scaling stat, whether that’s ATK, DEF, or HP. Prioritising this alongside 100% C.Rate (unless guaranteed by their kit) and high C.DMG will maximise their damage and improve their chances of securing the kills needed to activate Block Revive.

Once these foundations are in place, focus on enough Speed to take turns consistently, alongside strong gear sets, Relics, Masteries, Blessings, and skill upgrades. Combining these will help ensure your Champion can reliably eliminate targets and prevent them from returning to the fight.

Recommended Artifact Sets

The best gear sets for Block Revive damage dealers are those that help secure kills, with Savage, Lethal, and Merciless being among the strongest options thanks to their Ignore DEF effects. Merciless stands out for PvE, offering powerful offensive stats, cooldown reduction, and even a chance for Extra Turns, with a 6-piece setup providing its core benefits.

For more flexible builds like Stoneskin for PvP – sets like Zeal, Savage, Cruel, and Lethal are excellent choices to pair with it due to their lower set requirements, being 2 or 4 pieces. These can also be paired with sets such as Perception or Feral to help reach important ACC and Speed thresholds, particularly for hybrid Champions who combine damage with debuffs or utility.

Tips for using Block Revive champions

Block Revive Champions are at their best when they can consistently secure kills, making strong offensive stats and enough Speed to take turns before key enemies essential. Whether through hard hitting nukes, single target attacks, or conditional effects, ensuring your Champion can finish targets reliably is the key to getting value from Block Revive.

Many Block Revive Champions bring far more than just anti revive utility, often combining it with debuffs, crowd control, buff manipulation, or survivability. Choosing and eliminating priority targets such as revivers, damage dealers, or dangerous supports first can quickly swing a battle in your favour, while permanently removing enemies makes encounters safer, faster, and easier to control.

It’s also important to bring the right support around them, especially for Champions who lack self sustain or protection. Allies that provide healing, revives, defensive buffs, or offensive effects such as Increase ATK and Decrease DEF can greatly improve their ability to secure kills and make a stronger impact.
