The Ultimate Epics For Hard Faction Wars – Barbarians!

Hard Faction Wars has arrived in Teleria for those who have already claimed Lydia the Deathsiren as the ultimate reward for 3-starring all the stages in Normal difficulty. Now, the quest continues for the latest Faction Wars reward, Polara Fireheart – a Mythical champion from the Sacred Order. Along the way, you’ll earn some impressive milestone rewards as you push through these new stages. In this series of articles, we’ll be spotlighting some of the MVP Epic champions you should consider for each faction.

This new Hard Mode adds extra challenges to earn those 3-star clears: 1 star for simply completing the stage, 2 stars for finishing with 5 champions without losing anyone, and a final 3rd star for completing the unique stage condition. The Epics we’re featuring here range from top-tier powerhouses to those who fill a niche role – sometimes perfectly suited for tackling specific stage conditions, and sometimes offering broad utility that can cover multiple requirements.

You’ll also come across a stage that requires you to beat it using at least 3 Epic champions – so even if you have Meta Legendaries for most stages, these Epics will still find a place in your team for that challenge. Let’s dive into some of the best Epic champions from the Barbarians!

Hoskarul

Crowd control is one of the most crucial parts of a Faction Wars team to keep enemies from taking turns, and Hoskarul handles this well. Stages 1 and 9 require you to place Stuns for the 3-star clear, while stage 6 calls for Turn Meter manipulation. Hoskarul’s A2 has a 75% chance to place Stuns on enemies and also decreases the Turn Meters of those already stunned. He can cleanse Stuns from allies, increase the damage your team deals to enemies under Stun, and applies Increase Defence and Resistance to your team. Overall, he’s a well-rounded support and control option who also deals respectable damage!

Fahrakin The Fat

Fahrakin the Fat

This Barbarian has stood the test of time as one of the best Ally Attackers in the game and can be a great choice for certain stages. If you’re lacking champions like Valkyrie or Alaz for stage 12, you can time his Ally Attack against vulnerable targets to meet the 3-star requirement. He also places Increase Crit Rate and Crit Damage on allies with this skill. While he only places a single-target HP Burn, this can still help with those stage requirements and becomes even more effective when paired with a debuff spread ally. Additionally, he deals respectable damage and can place single target Poisons and Decrease Defence on enemies.

Alika

Alika is a powerful single target and AOE Epic nuker, but that’s not the only reason she earns a spot on the list. Stage 5 is where she really shines, with the requirement to manipulate skill cooldowns 10 or more times – and she can do this by increasing the cooldowns of all enemy skills by 2 turns with her A3. Outside of this specific stage, it’s still a great ability for controlling enemies and pairs well with other crowd controllers to keep enemies locked out. If you’re looking for a strong damage dealer who can also manipulate skills, she’s an great option – just make sure you have enough support to keep her alive if enemies aren’t fully controlled.

Armina

This champion has flown under the radar since her release, but Armina can be a solid choice against waves in areas like Faction Wars and The Cursed City. The main reason to use her is if you’re missing offensive support, as she brings an AOE Decrease Defence on her A2, plus a 7.5% Turn Meter steal from enemies affected. This helps her cycle through her turns faster while also contributing to the stage 6 requirement, alongside the Turn Meter decrease from her A3. Her A3 is also handy for Stun rooms if you can fully deplete enemy Turn Meters, and her A1 has a chance to Stun as well!

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Djamarsa Portrait

Kallia

This faction is particularly limited when it comes to champions who can apply HP Burns, so if you’re lacking the legendaries or don’t have debuff spread champions to pair with someone like Fahrakin, Kallia can be a great option for stages 4 and 8. She applies HP Burn with a three hit random attack, and gearing her in sets like Reflex or Relentless can help you cycle this ability more frequently. Additionally, she brings an AOE Heal Reduction to counter enemies who heal themselves, plus another HP Burn chance on her A1. She may not be the strongest champion overall, but she can definitely help you tackle those HP Burn stage requirements.

Djamarsa

Aside from her synergy with Crohnam, this champion is a good option to consider if you need a reviver. She can bring back all dead allies with 30% HP and Turn Meter, heal and boost the Turn Meter of a single target with her A2, and apply Sleep on her A1 for control. Her passive is also handy, granting a chance to decrease the cooldown of allies’ active skills by 1 turn when they use them, helping you cycle back to those powerful abilities faster.

High Khatun

This free daily login Epic is great for enabling the Turn Meter manipulation requirement of stage 5 and is also a solid choice for general speed manipulation. She can fill the Turn Meter of allies by 15%, grant them Increase Speed, and decrease the Turn Meter of enemies by 15%. This simple but effective combination can be really handy if you’re lacking these effects in your team.

Skytouched Shaman

The downside of using this champion is that she can passively place Fear on herself while also damaging herself by 10% of her MAX HP at the start of each turn. However, this self-damage scales the value of her heal – equal to half of her current lost HP, making her healing even stronger. She also brings strong utility through her active skill, removing all debuffs from allies and placing Block Debuffs and Revive on Death on them to help counter incoming debuffs. Building her in sets that restore some of the HP she loses, or pairing her with another support to pick her up if she falls, can keep her going. Overall, she’s a solid support option who provides team-wide healing every turn and has the potential to help with stage requirements if you gear her in Stun or Provoke sets thanks to her AOE A1.
