Ultan Of The Shell Champion Training Event

Spacer

With many players looking to start the new fusion event today in Raid Shadow Legends for Oella Plarium has chucked a curve ball in by adding in a champion training tournament for her partner in crime Ultan of the Shell.

Ultan joins as the Legendary champion to pair with Oella , The 2023 Valentines Fusion Event Champion.

His A1 brings a 50% chance to place a 60% Decrease Defense debuff, which will ignore 50% of RES if Oella is on the same team. This partner skill allows you to place this debuff with less intensive Accuracy stats, helping you target high resist arena champions, or bosses such as Sorath The Frost Spider, as examples.

Ultan will keep himself rolling with an A2 that removes all debuffs on himself and also heals himself by 20% of his MAX HP for each debuff removed (potentially a HUGE heal). He will then apply a shield buff based on any surplus heals, followed by a single target attack that ignores shield buffs, and increases damage based on the amount of debuffs cleansed from this skill.

His A3 attacks all enemies, and as he says goodnight to his enemies, he then places a 100% chance to sleep his targets, whilst ignoring 50% of the targets Resistance if Oella is on the same team. This form of crowd control will be great to set up other ally abilities, control waves in PVE, or doze off the Sand Devil. Ultan doesn’t stop there, he will then fill his turn meter by 15% for each sleep debuff that expires, which has a potential of 75% in PVE waves, or 60% in arena, granted it is placed on all enemies.

Ultan’s passive gives him a 15% chance to decrease the cooldown of one of his skills every time they are healed by a continuous heal buff, which Oella or other allies can bring. When Ultan & Oella join forces on the same team, you will see a 30% chance to reduce those cooldowns, making this pairing more desirable.

Ultan is a great champion to add to your roster but these tourneys tend to become a very heavy cost on resources, and right at the start of a fusion event you may want to weigh up the impact of each champion to decide where you will be investing time for your account.

A lot of the planning for this kind of push will come down to how you are placed in the brackets, sometimes, it is unfortunate and you will be placed with a mega-spender, however, other times it is way more achievable. Either way, try to make the decision based on your own account and what you want to do in the game.

Remember that this is a competition-based event, and there is always a chance that even if you try as hard as you can, you may not have the time or resources to compete against the others in your group.

Need to make 10 rank-5s for Pythion, Archmage Hellmut, and Oella, so why not at least nab a Lego-book along the way?

Ended up 6-starring Pythion and setting up Hellmut’s, then created all the food necessary for Oella’s rares/epics and finally picked up Ultan with 24337 points. Only really pushed on one of the 4 days.
