Harima – Champion Spotlight
Emerging from the Shadowkin Faction is a champion who needs no introduction – Harima. As one of the most powerful damage dealers and defence manipulators in Raid: Shadow Legends, Harima stands out with her ability to decrease a target’s defence while increasing her own. With a combination of AOE and single target nukes, she excels across many areas of the game, from boss battles and wave clearing to PVP fights.
Harima’s kit also includes valuable debuffs like Decrease Attack and Provoke to control enemies and reduce incoming damage. Additionally, Demonspawn champions cannot inflict critical hits on her, and her passive reduces the effectiveness of enemy ignore defence effects by 50%.
In today’s article, we’ll explore the areas where Harima excels, discuss optimal builds, and explain why she’s such a dominant champion against some of the toughest content in the game!
HYDRA CLAN BOSS
What makes Harima so powerful in Hydra battles is her ability to deliver both strong AOE and single target attacks against both active and decapitated heads. She also brings two crucial debuffs: one to reduce incoming damage and another to control the Head of Decay. In the highlighted team, Galleus serves as the primary provoker, but if he were to die or get digested, it’s nice to have a backup provoker to ensure the run doesn’t fall apart. For Decrease Attack, the changes to Hydra where heads respawn more frequently by depleting decapitated HP bars – make it valuable to have a champion with a frequent way to maintain damage reduction for your team.
In terms of damage output, Harima’s ability to scale her Defence by up to 100% with her A2 is incredibly powerful, boosting both her damage and survivability. With the right build and stats, she can easily free allies from digestion while dealing massive damage to both active and decapitated heads. In the showcased team, she’s equipped with 6 star Crushing Rend, allowing her to ignore a portion of defence with each hit. Impressively, she out damaged Thor, who was using a 5 star Nature’s Wrath, though both produced incredible numbers! Harima can also reduce her targets’ defence and deal impressive damage, even without a 6 star blessing!
CHIMERA
The mighty Chimera has arrived in Teleria, but once again, Harima steps in to prove who’s the real boss! While the most dominant damage dealers often include champions like Marius and Gnut, Harima stands out as a top contender among non-Enemy Max HP champions. Whether paired with Ally Attack champions or cycling her own turns, she’s an incredibly reliable Decrease Attack option, thanks to having it on her A1. When the Chimera switches forms, Harima can quickly reapply Decrease Attack to ensure your team takes reduced damage.
Ally Attack is crucial for one of the trials against the Lion form, making a damage dealer with a strong A1, like Harima, ideal for boosting overall damage output. In addition to her consistent Decrease Attack, Harima can reduce the boss’s defense, increase her own, and is far more durable than many attack based nukers. However, be cautious of the Ram form – its reflect damage may leave Harima needing a reviver! Lady Mikage is also a great option to consider for additional team-up attacks.
ARENA
Harima is undeniably one of the best Legendary Champions in the game for Arena, thanks to both her active skills and passive abilities. Her passive reduces enemy Ignore Defence effects by 50%, providing team sustain by mitigating some of the hardest hits. Additionally, she cannot land weak hits and always receives non-critical hits from Demonspawn enemies, making her a strong counter to tough champions like Mortu Macaab and Duchess, ensuring affinity disadvantages don’t impact her effectiveness.
Her triple hitting A2 allows her to chain attacks by instantly activating Celestial Awe [A3] after killing a target, unleashing a powerful AOE attack. This is especially useful for taking out enemies like Rotos, then damaging the rest of the enemies. With strong multipliers across all her abilities, a passive that enhances survivability and counters Demonspawn, Harima is an excellent addition to both offensive and defensive Arena line-ups.
