HH Gaming’s Favourite True Fear Champions!

HH chose to go with Ma’Shalled – a champion who truly went from zero to hero after his rework. He became a key part of innovative Clan Boss speed tunes and dominated in Hydra before the game entered its full power creep mode. Even now, he remains a hard hitting champion with a fantastic kit: He brings True Fear for control and Increase SPD for the team, uses his A3 to deal damage while placing Heal Reduction and stealing buffs (perfect for bosses like Amius), and continuously damages all enemies with his A1 whenever Leech is active – a debuff he conveniently applies himself through his A2.

While the usual favourites among Doom Tower Legendaries are Varl and Urost, YST has always been a secret fan of Vasal. Few champions in Raid can apply a 2-turn True Fear debuff to all enemies, and Vasal does this alongside Decrease ATK – making him a strong pick for content like Faction Wars Hard and The Cursed City. He also brings an HP Balance skill, offering great sustain in fights such as the Phantom Shogun (where he can serve as an Enfeeble tank) and many other encounters. Add to that an HP Burn on his A1, reduced damage taken from specific factions, and a passive that boosts Demonspawn allies’ C.DMG by 20% when at least two are present – and his visuals are frightening!

When the question of favourite True Fear champions came up, Nubs immediately jumped at the chance to highlight Embrys! This Mythical champion is obtained by collecting Fragments from weekly Chimera chests. In his first form, he brings the rare ability to remove Stoneskin buffs without relying on Accuracy – even bypassing the set’s 50% chance to block removal. In his second form, he becomes a powerful damage dealer who’s difficult to take down, while the rest of his kit focuses on replacing buffs with their debuff equivalents, applying True Fear, and stacking Necrosis. All in all, Embrys is a destructive force in either form – a true game changer in Raid.

The reason Saph chose Fortus wasn’t purely because of his kit, but rather because of the countless hours he spent playtesting him and convincing the devs to fix his coding! That said, Fortus truly embodies the essence of a True Fear champion. His AoE attack gains 10% increased damage whenever Fear or True Fear is placed on an enemy, while also ignoring 30% Defence – with this skill having a chance to unlock when those debuffs are applied. He can also apply True Fear himself with his A2, has a chance to inflict Fear on his A1, and passively increases the chance of enemies’ skills failing by 15% when they’re under these effects.
