Seer – Champion Spotlight (2025 Update)

Seer has long battled with Geomancer for the title of "Best Epic Champion in Raid: Shadow Legends". In this spotlight we will go through how Seer works in 2025, how to build her, and how to use her after all the changes (from Blessings, to Relics, and on…) over the last few years.

KARMA BURN EXPLAINED

The key to Seer's kit is her A3 ability, Karma Burn.

This attack removes all buffs from all allies and enemies, then deals Enemy Max HP Damage (with extra damage per buff removed).

MULTIPLIERS AND STACKING BUFFS

The non-boss multiplier is "EnemyMaxHP*(0.1+0.03*Buffs)" and the boss multiplier is "EnemyMaxHP*(0.1+0.005*Buffs)". [In practice, you can ignore the unique boss multiplier, since basically every boss has a 10% or 5% Max HP damage cap these days; this was added years ago, after champions like Seer and Royal Guard dominated Level 20 Normal Dungeons—which were the hardest content at the time, if you can believe it!]

Let's break down this multiplier, by simplifying the math and excluding things like gear, masteries, relics, etc.

Imagine an enemy has 100,000 HP and there are no buffs in the fight at all: Seer would do "100,000*(0.1+0.03*0)" damage, which is 10,000 damage. If we take the same enemy but now imagine our team has 5 champions with 4 buffs each: Seer would do "100,000*(0.1+0.03*5*4)" damage, which is 70,000 damage.

As you can see from the example above, Seer's A3 damage massively increases as you add more buffs to fuel it… In fact: adding buffs is essential to achieving good damage numbers with her.

As a general rule, you should aim to pair Seer with a champion who can provide at least 3 buffs to each member of your team (more on team synergies later).

Since her damage scales off Enemy Max HP, it will always do a proportionate amount of damage no matter how much HP they have (though remember that all modern bosses have a 5%/10% damage cap).

C.DMG% IS STEP TWO

Now we understand the basics of her damage, let's dive deeper.

Firstly, Seer's A3 can crit. To push her damage higher, you need to build her with 100% C.RATE% to ensure the crit lands, then as much C.DMG% as possible: this is the biggest multiplier you can build with basic stats to enhance her damage.

Going back to our earlier example of an enemy with 100,000 HP, and a Seer team with 4 buffs each where she would hit for 70,000 damage: if we now imagine that she has 100% C.RATE% and 300% C.DMG%, she will do an additional 300% damage on a crit, bringing the damage up to 280,000.

IGNORE DEFENCE IS STEP THREE

This should be enough to easily kill the 100,000 HP enemy, right? Well, not quite: we must also factor in enemy DEF.

An enemy with 5,000 DEF will reduce their damage taken by 85%: this brings Seer's damage down from 280,000 to a mere 42,000. Even a relatively low 2,600 DEF gives 70% damage reduction, bringing her damage from 280,000 to 82,000—still not enough to one-shot your 100,000 HP enemy.

As you can see DEF is stupidly powerful, but there are two steps you can take to counter it.

The first step is to bring a champion with a 60% Decrease Defence debuff. This would lower the 5,000 DEF enemy to 2,000 DEF, taking their damage reduction from 85% to 37.5%, thereby increasing your damage from 42,000 to 175,000 and securing the kill.

The second step is to build as much Ignore Defence as possible. This stat is so saturated in 2025 that you can hit 100% Ignore Defence against many enemies, effectively removing their DEF stat entirely. For example you could:

  1. Use 6-piece Merciless gear for 35%.
  2. Use 6-star Crushing Rend against a level 300 enemy for another 30%.
  3. Use the Cat's Gaze Relic at level 12 for another 16%.
  4. Use 20% Great Hall Area Bonuses for Faction Wars for another 20%.

With this you have now reached 100% Ignore Defence and are back to hitting for 280,000 damage… It's an extreme example which won't work everywhere in the game (and only with some exceptional investment into Seer), but even stacking a few Ignore Defence effects can massively boost your damage—and, of course, it can work alongside Decrease DEF debuffs as well.

STEP FOUR: BOOKS, MASTERIES, AND OTHER BOOSTS

The final damage boost is adding on book and mastery damage. Seer gains no damage boost from booking her A3, so we can ignore that part here. Masteries will add several damage increases though, such as 5% more damage while Seer is at max HP, etc. (expect around a 20-30% damage increase with masteries).

Other damage boosts come from things such as:

  • 5% damage boost per debuff placed by champions in 9-pieces of Feral gear.
  • 12% damage boost at max HP from 2-piece Zeal on Seer.
  • Passives such as Bad-el-Kazar's, which increase damage by 20% against enemies under Poison.
  • Relics and gems.

For Seer, these extra damage boosts are typically overkill, and can be easily substituted by bringing more buffs for her to rip off if needed.

BEST AREAS

3x Dungeon Events

As you learned above, Karma Burn is Seer's core ability, and it is capable of doing a stupidly powerful Enemy Max HP nuke, albeit with a long cooldown.

Sadly, this means she is not good against modern bosses: any modern boss takes a max of 10% damage from Enemy Max HP attacks (with some, such as Amius, taking only 5%). Since Seer rips off all your buffs, she will leave your team highly vulnerable while only dealing mediocre damage to most bosses.

EARLY-GAME BOSSES

On the flip side, Seer can one-shot old bosses, such as Normal Dungeon up to Stage 20, or Normal Difficulty Faction Wars.

WAVES

Seer's biggest strength, however, is in killing waves—for whatever reason, Plarium has never added any damage cap to waves!

This makes Seer one of the best champions for clearing waves in:

  1. Doom Tower
  2. Hard Mode Dungeons
  3. Faction Wars
  4. Cursed City

She can even be decent in arena (though she can get stopped by Stoneskin); anywhere where there are multiple enemies with no damage cap, she can potentially shine.

BUILDING SEER TEAMS

Seer needs a mix of other types of champions alongside her for maximum effect:

  1. A Buff champion.
  2. A Debuff champion.
  3. Reset champions.

BUFF CHAMPIONS

Some examples of great buff champions are Archmage Hellmut or Duchess Lilitu. This is an essential role in your team, since more buffs add so much damage; the more buffs a champion brings for you team, the better! You can supplement this with gear sets that provide buffs, such as Shield buffs from the Shield set or Divine sets, or Block Debuffs buffs from Feral or Immunity, etc. If your Seer is ricidulously stacked, you might get away with very few buffs and still have enough damage (but you probably don't need this guide if your account is that strong, eh?)

NOTE: since Seer can scale off enemy buffs which she removes too, you can use enemy buffs to fuel her A3 instead if you build her with enough ACC and are fighting enemies who buff.

DEBUFF CHAMPIONS

Debuff champions mean champions who bring Decrease Defence and Weaken debuffs. Decrease Defence will help you bypass enemy DEF, giving the biggest damage increase (as discussed above—but feel free to skip this debuff if you have enough Ignore Defence); Weaken will give you a 25% damage boost. You could also use champion with damage boosting passives such as Bad-el-Kazar instead.

RESET CHAMPIONS

Reset champions are the other key factor here, since Seer has a long 4-turn cooldown on Karma Burn. These are champions such as Prince Kymar or Yumeko who can dramatically reduce the cooldowns of your team, letting you quickly one-shot multiple waves in a row. Sadly, Renegade does not work perfectly with Seer, since she only provides 2-turns of cooldown reduction.

SAMPLE TEAM

A classic Seer team for Doom Tower waves is: Duchess Lilitu; Lydia the Deathsiren; Seer; Prince Kymar; Prince Kymar.

For wave one: the Kymar's A1; Duchess buffs up; Lydia debuffs; Seer one-shots everything.

For wave two: Kymar 1 resets; Kymar 2 A1s; repeat wave one for Duchess/Lydia/Seer.

For wave three: Kymar 1 A1s; Kymar 2 resets; repeat wave one for Duchess/Lydia/Seer.

DUNGEON RUNS

For dungeon runs (such as Dragon Hard), only one reset champion is needed, since there are only two waves before reaching the boss.

NO RESET CHAMPION?

With no cooldown reduction, you can hope for gear sets, masteries, or Seer's A1 to give her cooldown reduction or Extra Turns, but it will not be a consistent farm and might break your run by firing her A3 when no buffs are up etc. This can be fine for manual fights such as Doom Tower or Faction Wars Hard initial clears, but is not ideal for auto-farm teams.

HOW TO BUILD SEER

Best Stats

The key stats to look for on Seer are:

  1. C.RATE%
  2. C.DMG%
  3. SPD
  4. ACC

100% C.RATE% is essential to always crit.

C.DMG% should be stacked as much as possible.

SPD depends on where you want to use her: you typically need her to be faster than your enemies. For Doom Tower, 250 SPD should be enough for even the fastest enemy waves. More generally, 200 SPD might be enough. Factor in your SPD aura, then check enemy SPD using the Raid Stages Tool.

ACC is optional, allowing Seer to remove enemy buffs (potentially worthwhile if enemies will take a turn–even replacing the need for buff champions).

HP%, DEF% and ATK% are all optional: HP%/DEF% are generally better, helping Seer survive if she is attacked; ATK% will boost her A1 damage which is a nice perk but far from essential.

Best Gear Sets

The best sets for Seer are:

  1. Merciless
  2. Lethal
  3. Savage
  4. Zeal
  5. Cruel
  6. Perception

Essentially, we want to give Seer as much Ignore Defence as possible, then give any sets with damage boosts or other key stats.

Relentless is a possible alternative for teams trying to cycle through turns quickly to get back to her A3.

Stoneskin is another alternative if you intend to use Seer in PvP.

BEST BLESSINGS AND RELICS FOR  SEER

Blessings and Relics can massively boost Seer's damage, so making the right choice is essential.

Best Blessings

Check out our Blessings Tier List for full details on all Blessings!

Picking a Blessing for Seer is simple:

  1. Crushing Rend (Epic): This is Seer's best blessing in every scenario: she wants as much Ignore Defence as possible; typically fights high level enemies; and kills them in one hit anyway. A 6-star blessing helps boost her A1 damage against bosses, but is not essential.

Best Relics

Check out our Relics Tier List for full details on all Relics!

There are several great options for Relics for Seer:

  1. Crown of Corruption (Mythical Event Relic): Her best relic in theory, though she shouldn't need one as powerful as this.
  2. The Cat's Gaze (Legendary Event Relic): the best legendary damage relic in the game is (unsurprisingly) amazing for Seer, stacking with the Ignore Defence you'll get through gear, masteries, and area bonuses.
  3. Essence Quencher (Legendary Chimera Relic): this is Seer's best non-exclusive relic, giving a decent damage boost to her A3.
  4. Malefic Talon (Rare Chimera Relic): the best budget relic; essentially a C.DMG% stat-stick.
  5. Perched Shadow (Epic Faction Relic): an alternative relic option for team's lacking reset champions, since it helps Seer cycle through turns to get her A3 cooldown back.
