Top 10 Hydra Blessings 2024
Welcome to our top 10 Hydra Blessings for 2024! Getting the right Blessings on your team of Hydra hammering Champions is a crucial piece of any overall snake-slaying strategy, and as the meta changes, keeping up to date can be a make or break for your Hydra runs.
With the introduction of new Blessings (check our Blessing Tier List for all available Blessings) earlier this year, there are now even more tools in your arsenal to choose from. If you need help handling Hydra, have a read of our Boss guide linked below.
Let’s get decapitating!
Crushing Rend
Ignoring DEF is always a solid choice, and Crushing Rend takes this to a good level at Rank 6, ignoring 31% of your target’s DEF for Nightmare Hydra (level 310).
As decapitated Hydra heads take 200% increased damage already, this is incredibly useful for laying on even heavier hits.
Do note that Crushing Rend won’t pay off until fully upgraded, however. It also stacks with Great Hall bonuses, which means you can get a sizable Ignore DEF boost if you can upgrade your Great Hall Hydra Area Bonus to level 10 as well.
Works Great With:
Cruelty
Another Blessing that reduces enemy DEF, by up to 4% per hit in this case, Cruelty is a top pick for any Champion that can hit multiple times. Champions with three-hit attacks (especially attacks that hit all enemies) can potentially shear 12% DEF off their target. This translates into a solid damage boost that’s useful in many content areas, but especially Hydra.
Works Great With:
Nature’s Wrath
Nature’s Wrath is the better choice for Debuffing Champions compared to Heavencast, as the damage boost is a permanent increase in the same round after placing a debuff.
Given this boost can reach up to 30%, it’s ideal for Debuffers that can also hit hard, and great for further amplifying your hits on decapitated heads. Anything from Rank 1 to Rank 5 is recommended for this one.
Works Great With:
Heavencast
Heavencast is the top choice for your AoE damage dealers who don’t have access to Debuffs. It’s worth ranking up to Rank 5, where it gives an additional 2% damage per active Buff on the Champion. Given your team will be heavily cycling Buffs while fighting Hydra, this is an easy source of additional damage for the right Champions.
Works Great With:
Phantom Touch
More damage when facing Hydra is always welcome, and Phantom Touch delivers just that for your single target Champions. While effective at any Rank, it’s certainly worth upgrading to Rank 5 for the 75% chance of bonus damage.
Also of note is that this bonus damage will ignore 30% of enemy DEF, which is ideal for Hydra. Just keep in mind this Blessing is only effective for ATK-type Champions.
Works Great With:
Lightning Cage
The Buff protection offered by Lightning Cage is very useful for your Mischief Head tank. It will count as an additional Buff on top of any Buffs you’ve already placed, which will make drawing the attention of that annoying Mischief Head even easier.
What makes Lightning Cage even better is that even if your Mischief tank’s RES does get beaten by the Mischief Head, any activated Lightning Orbs take the hit for you while your Champion keeps their Buffs. In addition to the Champion suggestions below, check out our selection of the best mischief tanks to use.
Works Great With:
Neutralize
A little more niche, but no less essential for the right Champions, Neutralize gives you a powerful way to bypass and disable [Poison Cloud] using [HP Burn]. That said, this Blessing will need to be Rank 5 or Rank 6 to get the chance to hit high enough (60% fully upgraded), otherwise it won’t be reliable.
Works Great With:
Brimstone
This Blessing is great for Hydra and works very well on single-target Champions (even better on those with multi-hit attacks!). When fully upgraded, this Blessing has a 100% chance to land a [Smite] Debuff for two turns on the enemy for every hit placed. [Smite] triggers whenever the enemy uses a skill and hits for 25% of the enemy Max HP. It’s this last part that makes it so good for Hydra, as the heads have massive amounts of HP.
Works Great With:
Harmonic Impulse
Harmonic Impulse provides a hard counter to [True Fear], which is a staple part of the Torment Hydra Head onslaught. It’s worth ranking this up to Rank 6 if you can for the Skill reset (this Blessing will reset the Skill that the Champion attempted to use when affected by [True Fear]), and the 50% Turn Meter fill.
Works Great With:
Commanding/Intimidating Presence
Finally, both Commanding and Intimidating Presence are solid all-around choices for your Team Leader thanks to their Aura-boosting effects. Getting up to a 35% Aura boost at Rank 6 can give you a significant advantage.
Works Great With:
So there you have it! Keeping those Hydra Heads down for good should be slightly easier when you bring these Blessings to the fight.

Lightning Cage works best with Oboro? I dont think so ;)
