Loki Spotlight – Raid Shadow Legends
Loki the Deceiver joins the ranks of Login Chase Champions (much like the legendary Ninja, Ronda, and Sun Wukong champions of the past) as part of the Asgard Divide event.
Make sure to login to Raid for 7 days before October 24th to get Loki for free! Login for another 7 days to get a free 2-star perfect soul for Loki, then take part in Phase 2 to earn up to a 5-star soul for him—a massive boost to his stats, especially for F2P players who won’t be spending a lot of money on soulstones.
In this guide we’ll be breaking down the key facts you need to know to make the most of your free Loki.
LOKI OVERVIEW
Loki is perhaps the most complex free login champion ever added to the game.
With his passive he starts off the fight with the Perfect Veil buff which gives him 15% damage reduction and makes him untargetable by enemy attacks. He also gains Perfect Veil when his HP drops below 50%. Note that Loki’s active abilities are all enhanced when he is under Veil but he can’t keep himself veiled 100% of the time; you will need other champions to provide the Veil buff to him to get the most out of his skills past the first 2 turns of the fight.
The Evade effect is a brand-new ability in Raid: Shadow Legends, first appearing in Loki’s kit! Evade enables Loki to completely avoid enemy skills and all their effects. He has a base 15% chance to Evade and this increases to 30% when he is under Veil or Perfect Veil. He also has a 100% chance to Evade the next skill when he drops below 50% HP, though this has a 4-turn cooldown.
With his basic attack, Flames of Mischief, Loki attacks all enemies and can extend the duration of their debuffs, with a better chance if he is under Veil. This is an incredibly powerful basic attack and will make all your team’s debuffs much more consistent!
His A2, Deceiver’s Gambit, is his most complex skill. If he casts it on an enemy, it will place Block Active Skills and Block Buffs on them for 2 turns. These are both very powerful debuffs. Block Active Skills prevents your enemies from using their skills which is very strong in arena, but all boss enemies are immune. Block Buffs is excellent against Hydra or any other enemy that places powerful buffs on themselves.
If he is under Veil, he will spread 2 random debuffs to all enemies. Note that the debuffs chosen are random, so it might not spread the ideal ones if there are multiple debuffs on the enemy you choose. You can play around this a bit by picking an enemy with only debuffs you want to spread, or no debuffs at all if you only want to spread Loki’s ones.
If you cast his A2 on an ally, it will heal them by 50% of Loki’s Max HP and place Perfect Veil on them for 2 turns. If Loki is under Veil when he casts this, it will spread one random buff from the target and place it on all allies. This is not as useful as the offensive version, but it can help you keep a crucial ally alive when their health drops low.
Finally, his A3, Bandit Flash, places Increase ATK on all allies for 2 turns and attempts to steal all buffs and 100% turn meter from a target enemy. This cannot be resisted if Loki is under Veil. If he fails to steal turn meter (usually if the enemy is a boss who is immune or if the enemy champion is under the Stoneskin buff) then he will fill the turn meters of all allies by 15% instead. This is a very strong control move in arena and against the rare bosses such as normal Fire Knight or Spider who are vulnerable to turn meter effects.
HOW TO BUILD LOKI
The key stats to look out for on Loki are:
- Speed
- Accuracy
- HP
Speed will ensure Loki can quickly rotate through his skills to control enemies; Accuracy ensures he is able to land his debuffs and other effects; and HP will help Loki stay alive and boost the healing of his A2 if used on allies.
The recommended sets for Loki for PVE are:
- Feral
- Perception
- Cursed
- Speed
- Supersonic
Generally, we are looking for sets that will boost Loki’s best stats. Cursed set is the one exception, where it is used exclusively for Hydra where it works well with Loki’s AoE A1 attack.
The recommended sets for Loki for PVP are:
- Stoneskin
- Supersonic
- Perception
- Pinpoint
- Speed
Again, we are generally looking for sets that will boost Loki’s key stats. Stoneskin is high priority since it will protect Loki if the enemy team goes first. Supersonic is very strong on Loki since it will boost his turn meter when the enemy applies buffs, and he can then swoop in and steal those buffs from them. The new Pinpoint set is a good option to protect Loki from the polymorph blessing.

BEST BLESSING FOR LOKI
Since everyone can get up to a 5-star soul for Loki for free, choosing the right blessing is an important decision.
For arena content, Temporal Chains will be his best blessing. This will lower enemies speeds when they have buffs on them, which will allow Loki to cut in and steal their buffs. Polymorph is also a great option if you expect the enemy to bring a lot of debuffs as well.
For dungeon and boss content, Brimstone is likely your best option. Loki will have plenty of accuracy and this blessing can contribute a lot of damage. If your focus is on using Loki for Hydra, then Cruelty will be a more consistent option, though you need the Warmaster mastery to achieve its full effect.
BEST PLACES TO USE LOKI
Loki will be at his most powerful in the arena and enemy minion waves since they are vulnerable to all the control effects in his kit. He will also be useful against the specific bosses that are vulnerable to turn meter control and against the Hydra Clan Boss.
For arena and wave-based content, Loki will be extremely powerful against any enemy who does not have Stoneskin gear or a high Polymorph blessing, since he can easily steal all their buffs and turn meter and then start spreading Block Active Skills amongst their team. This is particularly useful against Mythical champions, since the Block Active Skills debuff will prevent them from Metamorphing into their alternate forms.
Loki will be a great help to new players against the limited time Event Dungeon where you fight Odin as part of the Asgard Divide event. Odin gains the Block Damage buff after every 9 turns in the fight and Loki can stop this with his Block Buffs ability.
For Hydra, his basic attack is key, since this allows him to extend debuffs against all the Hydra heads. Make sure to target the Head of Wrath or Head of Suffering with Block Bufffs, since they have the most dangerous self-buffs in Increase ATK and Reflect Damage.
Bosses vulnerable to turn meter effects are normal Spider and Fire Knight, and Dark Fae. Loki can help keep their turn meter down while providing your team with Increase ATK.
