Plarium has announced that they will be running a series of Special Tournaments that will require us to use very specific teams in order to compete in them, now this isn’t something new to Raid and has been a thing for a while now, albeit not massively frequently.

We occasionally see these Tournaments but we have no impact on picking them usually, however, this time we do!

Let’s take a look at Plarium’s post and see what they’ve said…

Plarium Announcement:

We’re running a series of special Tournaments that will require you to use specific Factions. For this round of Tournaments, only Champions from the Corrupted Alliance (Demonspawn, Undead Hordes, Dark Elves, Knights Revenant) will be able to be used.

Here’s the best bit – YOU get to decide which Factions to use and where to use them.

The poll will be active from 08:00 UTC, Monday, October 31, to 08:00 UTC, Thursday, November 3. After the votes are in, the Tournaments will take place soon after:

  • From 11:00 UTC, Thursday, November 10, to 11:00 UTC, Sunday, November 13 you will be able to earn Tournament Points by raiding the Fire Knight’s Castle with the chosen Faction.
  • From 11:00 UTC, Sunday, November 13, to 11:00 UTC, Wednesday, November 16 you will be able to earn Tournament Points by raiding the Spider’s Den with the chosen Faction.
  • From 11:00 UTC, Wednesday, November 16, to 11:00 UTC, Saturday, November 19 you will be able to earn Tournament Points by raiding the Dragon’s Lair with the chosen Faction.
  • From 11:00 UTC, Saturday, November 19, to 11:00 UTC, Tuesday, November 22 you will be able to earn Tournament Points by raiding the Ice Golem’s Peak with the chosen Faction.

How best to tackle these Tournaments?

When it comes to Tournaments people tend to jump to the conclusion that they need to be farming at a high level, but that’s not always the case.

With these Faction Specific Tournaments, it is relatively easy for most players to pick up the rewards by simply farming a lower stage, for example in most cases – stage 16, as players who actually have the available Champions to compete in such events, will likely be able to steamroll through these kinds of levels.

Spider is a slight out-cast here, as there’s a bug with the drop rates on Stage 10, making it the most efficient stage below level 20 to farm as you will get TONS of 5* items, instead of it being a 20% drop-rate, and the best bit… it’s super easy!

So if you are unable to farm Stages 20, 24 or 25 with a team from a specific Faction, try branching off into the lower stages with key ones being:

  • Stage 16 (No XP Brews or Mystery Shards)
  • Stage 13 (First chance at 6* gear)
  • Stage 10 (Spider)

What Factions do I vote for?

There are many different options within these Factions with a few lead contenders who are notably good for it, and able to solo in some situations, so it’s very likely that this will lean towards those when it comes to voting, but with it being in the communities hands… we’ll have to wait and see!

Ice Golem: Undead Hordes

Players with Bad-El-Kazar will be able to solo this, whilst running with some other offensive Champions to speed up the waves, or even more, support to make it safer if you’re not quite at the gear thresholds required for soloing. There are tons of options within the Undead Hordes Faction.

Spider: Demonspawn

Demonspawn is full of renowned Champions for Spider, with AOE HP Burn available widely within the Faction, but also lots of support – you will see teams consisting of Champions such as Tyrant Ixlimor, Prince Kymar, Drexthar Bloodtwin, Sicia Flametongue, Duchess Lilitu, Helicath, Achak the Wendarin, and many more!

Dragon – Knight’s Revenant

As a whole the Knight’s Revenant Faction offers some of the BEST carries for Dragon, and we’ll take a little look at some of those today…

Tomb Lord has become a key to many players’ access to Dragon 25 Farming, with him being a renowned solo farmer, especially considering he is available in the Token Trader for duplicate Legendaries. But he doesn’t have to act alone, there are many great options for this dungeon from the Knight’s Revenant.

Teodor the Savant is another clear option, as those who are lucky enough to have him are able to speed-farm this dungeon, completely alone.

Kalvalax is another standout for Dragon although he is most commonly seen complimented by Poison Exploders, his Poisons and damage can really speed up any team!

Whilst there are tons of other options within the Faction, these 3 are standouts that will make your time significantly easier!

Fire Knight – Dark Elves

When you think of Fire Knight, one of the first names that come to mind (especially if you look at lower levels such as Stage 20) is Coldheart, and this will be no different, if you can provide a supporting team to get your Coldhearts to the boss, they will tear through his shield with a 4 hitter A1 ability, and then completely obliterate the bosses HP whilst also depleting the Turn Meter.

Of course, as with all Factions, there are many great options to run here, whether it supports from Champions like Blind Seer, Debuffs from Champions like Ghostborn and Lydia the Deathsiren, or further Turn Meter Control such as Visix the Unbowed, the Dark Elves Faction is packed with Fire Knight viable options!

I cast my votes before this article went live, and selected the same factions for the same dungeons as suggested. Great minds think alike!

Huh…oddly enough these are some of my only strong factions right now. I might actually be able to do a few of these events.
