The Ultimate Epics For Hard Faction Wars – Lizardmen!
Hard Faction Wars has arrived in Teleria for those who have already claimed Lydia the Deathsiren as the ultimate reward for 3-starring all the stages in Normal difficulty. Now, the quest continues for the latest Faction Wars reward, Polara Fireheart – a Mythical champion from the Sacred Order. Along the way, you’ll earn some impressive milestone rewards as you push through these new stages. In this series of articles, we’ll be spotlighting some of the MVP Epic champions you should consider for each faction.
This new Hard Mode adds extra challenges to earn those 3-star clears: 1 star for simply completing the stage, 2 stars for finishing with 5 champions without losing anyone, and a final 3rd star for completing the unique stage condition. The Epics we’re featuring here range from top-tier powerhouses to those who fill a niche role – sometimes perfectly suited for tackling specific stage conditions, and sometimes offering broad utility that can cover multiple requirements.
You’ll also come across a stage that requires you to beat it using at least 3 Epic champions – so even if you have Meta Legendaries for most stages, these Epics will still find a place in your team for that challenge. Let’s dive into some of the best Epic champions from the Lizardmen!
Most Valuable Players

While useful for enabling the Stage 3 requirement in Faction Wars by applying Poisons, this champion offers much more – providing strong utility across both wave and boss encounters. The A3 works well with the passive, placing Poisons for damage and Heal Reduction to counter enemy healing, while the passive reduces incoming damage by 15% from enemies under the effects.
When it comes to bosses or priority targets in waves, the combination of Decrease Attack and Decrease Defence is great for reducing incoming damage and increasing ally output. A simple yet highly effective champion – even if not essential for most rooms, Venomage will shine on stages 3 & 10, and can also be a strong pick for Stage 19 where you must defeat 3 or more enemies while under 10 debuffs.
This champion has flown under the radar since release. His A3 is tailored to support allies based on their stat priorities – granting Increase Attack and Perfect Veil to those with higher Attack than Defence, and applying Block Debuffs and Increase Defence to those with higher Defence than Attack. This flexible support setup enhances ally damage & survivability depending on their build, making him valuable in diverse teams.
His A2 provides a team wide 15% heal and a 15% Shield, offering solid sustain and protection. This also makes him particularly useful for Stages 1 and 8, where significant healing is needed to meet the 3 star condition.
This OG Epic earns a spot on the list for one key reason – he’s the only Epic in the faction with an active skill revival. If you’re missing a reviver among your higher rarity champions, this ability alone can be the deciding factor between securing a 3 star clear or falling short. Reviving two random allies with a Block Damage buff gives them a crucial moment to recover and rejoin the fight.
He also offers minor control with a Freeze chance on the A1, but more notably brings Increase Crit Rate and a 15% Increase Speed buff to allies through his A2, along with a 15% Turn Meter fill. This can help boost allies who aren’t fully crit capped and gives your team a better chance of outpacing enemies to cycle skills more quickly. This is also useful for enabling Stage 6, where 40 or more instances of Turn Meter manipulation are required.
The primary reason to consider Aox for your team is if you’re looking for strong defensive support. His standout skill is the A3, where he places Decrease Attack on all enemies, reduces their Turn Meter by 20%, and then applies Decrease C.Rate to those with more than 50% Turn Meter after the reduction. This not only helps you meet the Stage 6 requirement for Turn Meter manipulation but also offers valuable utility by reducing incoming damage and helping your team outpace the enemies.
He also brings a team wide heal that scales based on the number of debuffs on enemies – something you’ll often have in content like Faction Wars. Additionally, any enemy that hits him risks having the duration of 2 random debuffs extended.
HONOURABLE MENTIONS
Skathix
If you’re looking for general support focused on shielding allies, cleansing, and blocking incoming effects, Skathix is a strong option. His A3 removes all debuffs from allies, applies Block Debuffs, and grants a 20% Shield to the team. If you’re lacking full control over enemies, this combination can make a big difference in helping your team survive incoming damage and debuffs as you progress.
Stage 12 requires defeating all enemies without any buffs present, and Skathix’s A2 can help with this by stealing one random buff from each enemy. This is especially useful if you’re lacking a consistent Block Buffs champion or need to strip passive effects like Continuous Heals. He also brings self protection through Block Damage when falling below 30% HP, and a Decrease Speed debuff on his A1.
Basilisk
Basilisk was an honourable mention from Nub Raids’ experience through the stages, especially if you’re struggling with the 3-star conditions that require applying Stuns or Provokes. Thanks to his AOE A1, you can build him in either a Stun or Provoke set to roll the chances of landing these debuffs, and his A2 also provides a direct Stun for additional control. He can also passively revive himself and gain Block Damage when defeated, giving him a second chance to keep contributing to the fight.
Broodlord
Similar to Basilisk, Broodlord is a solid option for tackling stages 2 and 9, where applying Stuns is required to meet the 3 star condition. If you’re lacking an ally who can place an AOE Decrease Speed debuff – needed to boost his Stun chance from 50% up to 85% – it’s ideal to pair him with someone in a Stun Set to make meeting the condition easier. Outside of this, he serves as a strong single target protector for your most vulnerable ally and also brings an A1 Provoke for additional control, provided enemies are already under Decrease Speed.
Jareg
Most players know this champion for his utility in Clan Boss progression, but he’s also a reliable tank and support option in Faction Wars. He brings both Ally Protection and Increase Defence to the team – two strong effects for reducing incoming damage. The Increase Defence also boosts the output of your defence based damage dealers. Additionally, he provides passive Continuous Heals whenever allies lose a portion of their HP, and his A1 offers a Decrease Attack for further damage mitigation.
