Thor Faehammer is the September fusion for Raid: Shadow Legends as part of the Asgard Divide Event.

Here’s the good news: he does A LOT of damage!

In this article we’ll break down the key facts you need to know to get the most out of your Thor. Check back on the website when the fusion is live for our daily updated fusion guide to make sure you get your hands on this hairy ginger monster! (Chris Hemsworth WHO?!)

THOR OVERVIEW

Thor is capable of putting out a monstrous amount of AoE damage thanks to his short cooldowns and his extra attack from his passive.

Thor’s passive is what pushes his kit to the next level. For every hit he does (counting each hit from AoE attacks), he builds up 1 point of his Thunder Counter. Each point boosts his damage by 3%, up to 30% at the maximum of 10 points. Once he reaches 10 points, he unleashes an extra AoE attack that will stun enemies for 1 turn. This extra attack will happen even if it isn’t currently Thor’s turn (e.g. if he reaches 10 stacks by joining in on a full team ally attack from Lady Mikage).

Thor’s basic attack is simple but effective. He attacks twice, reducing his target’s turn meter by 10% per hit. This is quite strong for bosses that are weak to turn meter control, such as regular Spider or Fire Knight. He also has a 20% chance to repeat this attack, which can do very substantial damage and turn meter control.

Thor’s A2 is his hardest hitting attack. Although this is an AoE attack, it has a unique effect where it will ramp up its damage by 25% for every enemy hit, to a max of 100% extra damage. The order of enemies is chosen randomly, though you can choose the initial target. For example, in Hydra, it will do its usual 100% damage to the head you target, then 125%, 150%, and 175% damage to the other three heads in a random order. This attack also ignores Block Damage and Unkillable buffs which will be very useful in the arena.

Thor’s A3 is a good AoE attack as well, but the buffs and debuffs are the real highlight. Thor will buff himself with Increase Attack and Increase Crit Damage before attacking, and debuff his enemies with Decrease Speed after attacking. As an attack-based damage dealer, it is essential to have Increase Attack to do maximum damage, so you will generally open the fight with this move. This attack also permanently decreases the RES of each enemy by 10%, stacking up to 50%, but this is unlikely to be something that you intentionally play around.

Finally, Thor brings a strong 30% attack aura in all battles. This will be particularly strong in Campaign and Dungeons.

HOW TO BUILD THOR

The key stats to look out for on Thor are:

  1. Crit Rate to 100%
  2. Crit Damage
  3. Attack
  4. Speed
  5. Accuracy

Crit Rate, Crit Damage and Attack are all essential to Thor’s main purpose: hitting as hard as possible. Make sure to use our Optimiser to get the best ratio of stats with the gear you actually have. Speed will help Thor rotate through his abilities faster and Accuracy will enable him to land his debuffs. Cater your accuracy stats to the level of Hydra or Doom Tower that you are progressing on (check out our Raid Stages Tool for more info!).

The recommended sets for Thor for PVE are:

  1. Merciless
  2. Lethal
  3. Savage
  4. Cruel
  5. Perception

Generally, we are looking for sets that will boost Thor’s damage, and ignore defence is the best way to do that. Perception can be a reasonable off-set if you need the speed and accuracy.

The recommended sets for Thor for PVP are:

  1. Merciless
  2. Stoneskin
  3. Lethal
  4. Savage
  5. Cruel

Although Merciless is the biggest boost to Thor’s damage, for arena you might prefer to go for a 4-piece Lethal set since you can also get a 4-piece Stoneskin set with accessories to help Thor survive the first round of battle.

BEST BLESSINGS FOR THOR

It is very likely that there will be a Hero’s Path or Titan Event for a 5-star Perfect Soul for Thor either during or after his fusion, so start saving up resources now if that sounds valuable to you (for most players this will likely be something to aim for if possible).

For Hydra and other PvE content, Nature’s Wrath will be Thor’s best blessing up to 5-star, and then Crushing Rend will be best at 6-star. Since Thor places both Decrease Speed and Stun debuffs, he will be able to quickly ramp up the damage bonus from this blessing, and it will exceed the damage boost of Heavencast etc.

For Arena, Heavencast might be a better option since it can be much more challenging to land debuffs on enemies. At 6-star, Polymorph is always a top tier option as well.

BEST PLACES TO USE THOR

Hydra

With his hard-hitting and short cooldown AoE attacks, Thor will rip through any “lower end” content, such as the Campaign, Minotaur’s Labyrinth, Potion Keeps etc… Don’t sleep on Thor when it comes to speeding up your farm teams in these areas.

Doom Tower and Cursed City waves will become much easier with Thor on the team thanks to the constant Stuns and Decrease Speed debuffs he will be throwing out.

Hydra will be one of Thor’s best areas, where he can bring the invaluable Decrease Speed debuff and consistently build up his passive against four Hydra heads for constant high-level damage.

Arena will also be a solid place for Thor. He will be difficult to protect but he brings his own Increase Attack buff which can open up more team building options and plenty of damage.
