1 Million Silver – To Pick Their Most Wanted Champions!
YST and Nub Raids recently set themselves a fun challenge: a 1 Million Silver budget to “buy” their most wanted champions in Raid: Shadow Legends! The rules were simple – start with 1M Silver, and spend it based on champion rarity. A Mythical cost 200K, a Faction Unity cost 150K, a standard Legendary was 100K, and an Epic came in at 50K. With those restrictions, the pressure was on to see who they truly value and want the most in 2025.
There was also a fun twist: each could choose a shard type and guess the rarity they would summon. If guessed correctly, they’d earn bonus Silver equal to double the cost of the rarity they were about to pick. For example, if they were both about to choose a Mythical and guessed the correct shard rarity, they’d earn an extra 200K Silver to spend. Guess wrong – and no bonus at all!
As a bit of a spoiler… both guessed their shard rarity correctly, boosting their total budget to 1.2 Million Silver each! Let’s take a look at which champions they decided to spend it on.
NUB RAIDS
Spending 200K right from the start, Nubs went with the Mythical Starsage. Not only is he a strong support and revive champion, but since Nubs already owns Fyna, Starsage would help unlock her Unity effects for his Chimera team. In his second form, Starsage opens up access to a range of Trials, and across both forms, he brings solid support and crowd control value – especially for Arena.
Chosen next was Vulkanos, as Nubs felt he would be a strong addition for specific Arena and Siege teams, the long-awaited hard mode Faction Wars, and various stages of The Cursed City. There are plenty of strong pairings within the Demonspawn – like Lamasu, Karnage, and The Cheshire Cat – and Nubs believes Vulkanos is one of the top PvP Faction Unity champions in the game right now. His favourite part about the kit is the Unity effects in the passive: granting Unresistable and Unblockable HP Burns, scaling Ignore Defence with each Burn activation, and blocking the revive of enemies killed under Burn.
Breaking the balance with another 200K spend, Nubs next picked Gizmak from the Ogryn Tribes. In Arena, he’s a powerhouse capable of tearing through Stoneskin, and even in Form 2, he remains a constant damage threat. The main reason Nubs wants Gizmak is due to the synergy with Vizug, who can interact with HP Burns, and Stokk the Broken, who gets better with them – making the trio a combo he’s eager to try if he manages to pull Gizmak.
To start, Marichka brings an incredible Speed aura – especially valuable for Live Arena & Siege, which is what caught Nubs’ attention. She’s like the Queen of defence teams, with a passive that hard counters Bombs, Poisons, and HP Burns by placing Block Damage on all allies whenever an ally receives one of those effects. Beyond that utility, she provides one of the strongest Shield and Heal combinations in the game with her A2, sustains the team with Strengthen, cleanses debuffs, and can revive all allies if she’s taken down. Nubs sees her as an easy slot into any Arena defence team.
Following his previous pick, it was a no brainer for Nubs to spend the next chunk of his budget on Taras. He finds it fascinating that despite all the power surge in the game since their release, Taras and Marichka have stood the test of time as an OP duo. The damage Taras can deal across game modes like Hydra and Arena is insane, and being tough to take down makes him an ideal nuker. Having the synergy of both Marichka and Taras is definitely high on Nubs’ wishlist for 2025!
Initially, Nubs was on the fence about choosing Teox next, but ultimately decided on Acelin to pair with Taras and Marichka. He feels they would synergize well as a Banner Lords core for Siege, and sees Acelin as a top contender for dominating the long-awaited Hard Faction Wars. The ability to make allies immune to crowd control while under Shields is incredibly strong, especially when combined with all the protection and healing Acelin brings to the team.
Although Nubs feels Starsage is on another level compared to Theodosia, he still considers her an incredible support and debuffer Mythical to be added to the game. Few champions can place protected debuffs, let alone offer a powerful revive and strong support in her base form. He also appreciates the versatility in how you can build her, making her a fun champion to experiment with. In form 1, she brings plenty of utility through Perfect Veils, Revives, Cleanses, and Heals, while in form 2, Nubs sees real potential in the passive to scale up solid damage for your team over time.
Nubs was actually on the fence about spending his final 100K on Arnorn, but ended up going with Senna. She’s undoubtedly one of the top Turn Meter manipulators in the game, boosting Turn Meter every time Continuous Heals activate on allies. Whether it’s Chimera, Hydra, or pretty much any game mode, she helps your team cycle through turns far more efficiently. On top of that, she brings a full team revival with an Ally Attack – perfect for content like Hard Fire Knight – and adds even more speed manipulation while placing Continuous Heals the team.
YST
YST kicked off his picks with a Faction Unity champion for 150K – Tetsuya from the Shadowkin. It was no surprise he went for the newest addition to the faction, especially considering how unique his skill set is. Tetsuya brings a blend of crowd control and damage, with abilities that ignore defense, land extra hits based on the enemy’s Turn Meter, and scale damage depending on the speed gap between him and his target. YST is always drawn to fun, creative champions like this, and Tetsuya is one he’d love to use in content like Siege and Hard Faction Wars.
Perfect Veil champions have always been a favourite for YST, and when Pheidi entered the game, the kit instantly reminded him of a blend between Firrol and Yumeko – two of his most used champions. The main reason he picked Pheidi was for Hydra, where the champion can help cycle ally cooldowns faster, counter Torment with Perfect Veil, apply Block Buffs and Decrease Speed to the heads, and remove buffs from enemies. Even in other areas like Siege and Faction-limited content, YST expects this Lizard to be top tier!
Ever since building his one-shot Bommal team with Gnishak a few years ago, YST developed a real love for Bomb champions in Raid. Some of his all time favourites include Souldrinker, Gaius – and now, Komidus has become one of his most wanted. It’s rare to see a Bomb champion scale off HP, and for content like Live Arena and Siege, YST feels Komidus would make a massive impact. With Bomb reflection and placement, instant detonations, heals, Weaken, Block Active Skills, and more – what’s not to like?
During the Wight Queen Ankora fusion, YST was desperately hoping he could pull Narses to unlock the duo synergy. He didn’t have enough shards for the guaranteed event, but whenever a progressive summons event includes this champion, he always tries his luck. With Live Arena being a major focus for him lately, expanding his roster with top tier champions is ideal – and he feels Narses would be a go to HP nuker for his account thanks to the impressive damage output across the board.
Next up, YST decided to drop another 200K on a Mythical, this time choosing Nell from the Sylvan Watchers. Poison activation has always been something he enjoyed in the early days of Raid, especially with champions like Elenaril – and having someone who can potentially wipe out enemies in Arena with Poisons sounds like a lot of fun. What makes her unique is that in her alternate form, any debuffs placed in either form scale her ATK, HP, DEF, and SPD stats – making it easier for her to stay alive and inflict more damage. On top of that, her A2 can deal up to 100% more damage to crowd controlled targets, which she can help trigger herself through True Fear.
Tying back to his reasoning for picking Pheidi, YST always enjoys collecting champions who revolve around Perfect Veil. This champion can ignore 15% Defence and deal 15% more damage while Veiled, self-sustains when recieving a fatal hit, and buffs himself for damage – while bringing solid output across all of his skills. A unique aspect of his kit is manipulating both his own and enemy Speed, which also factors into his damage scaling alongside ATK. Plus, his A1 becomes an AOE attack while Veiled, which is especially strong in fights like Hydra.
Heading back to the Shadowkin faction, YST spent his next 200K on Toshiro the Bloody. His main focus was the power of Toshiro’s base form for content like Hydra and Chimera – especially when paired with Mikage for additional team up attacks. The scaling of his ATK and HP stats (up to 100%) is incredibly strong in prolonged fights, especially with the bonus damage he deals to enemies under Leech – which he can set up himself. On top of that, bringing Decrease Defence and self Perfect Veil into the mix is a great bonus.
He didn’t go with Queen of Hearts next because of his F2P 2025 team, but rather for the powerful kit she brings for both PvE and PvP. She was the first champion introduced with Deathbrand – a unique debuff that blocks the revive of enemies killed under its effect. Paired with buff removal, True Fear, an Ally Attack, and an A1 that applies Decrease Defence to all enemies, her utility is strong across the board. On top of that, her passive grants an extra turn for every 10 buffs enemies receive, enabling a chain of turns that can be a nightmare for Arena teams to deal with.
When tallying up how much and who they spent their budget on, YST still had 50K left to spend! That left him with one final choice… an Epic – and he went with Siegehulk. Not because he doesn’t own him, but because he needs one more copy to take him to +4 Empowerment. YST currently uses Siegehulk in areas like Cursed City, Faction Wars, and Secret Rooms thanks to his AOE Decrease Defence and solid damage output across all his skills. And of course, who wouldn’t want a super charged Hulk smashing through enemies on their team!
